Volute wine bottles are made out of aluminum not only because it brings qualities identical to glass, but it also protects the wine from light. All lighting sources emit ultraviolet light and damaging visible spectrum radiation, which can lead to what is referred to as "the light struck effect" or "gout de lumiere", which causes the wine aromas to deteriorate plus it is 100% recycle-able.
