One of our readers from China who wants to remain anonymous has just gave me an interesting insight of the various shampoo packaging design in China. I find the design going towards the "safer" side that really targets the mass market in the country. Maybe it is because packaging quality in China does not mean striving for perfection. Costs and profit have to be kept in mind in due proportion with each other. But well, the market over there is always evolving and it is set to attract more foreign investors to play in the huge huge market.
I agree with your point that costs and profit is really a factor everywhere, not only China, but it is more likely to be part of everyday's play in China especially.
