Designed by Box Marche S.p.a., Italy.
Boxmarche was involved in this new packaging project for their customer Oenoforos right from the beginning: they provided the design and structure. Development from first contact to time-to-market took six months. Boxmarche wanted to develop a box that was totally different from other Bag in Box solutions: products in this sector usually have standard formats and are quite repetitive. There was only one constraint: the box had to fit inside a fridge. The special shape of the new box allows an entirely innovative use of the box: the box can be used upright or on its side and tipped forward as necessary whilst still in the fridge, this was highly appreciated by the customer, who decided to print the instructions for use on the packaging.
The shape of the box generates a special visual effect on the shelf which attracts consumers as it is completely new on the shelves of the wine retail trade. The slim, elegant shape also reflects the character of the wine. The graphic design was handled by the Oenoforos designer Sofia Blomberg. For the particular characteristics and processing of this product (curved sides and particular corners) Boxmarche chose an excellent quality material, reliable and at the same time easy to work with: the CKB Cartonboard (CKB 235 g/mq laminated to KM/46/e, acrylic gloss paint, hot printing + relief on the logo and on the sun) produced by Stora Enso.
Finally, thanks to the skills of Box Marche Product Design Team and to the collaboration between Box Marche Spa and Oenoforos, Bag in Box Mauro “Chardonnay” won in 2011 the prestigious Ecma ProCarton – Beverages Category.
Very trendy packaging. Very simple and pleasing on the eyes. The curves on the box seems so sexy.
