Honey Whiskey (Student Work)

The guiding concept surrounding this project was the whiskey acting as the "honey in the honeycomb." It is a premium single cask whiskey with hand made, gold leafed and copper painted labels (with stamped typography). The container is in the shape of a hexagon (like honeycomb) and made of copper (copper pot stills are used to create whiskey) with a patina applied over the copper (the patina is the result of an aging process on copper so it conceptually mirrors the process of fermentation and the creation of alcohol in whiskey which is also an aging process). The typography for the Honey Whiskey title-treatment is hand drawn and inspired by early American 1910's-1920's display type.
