Design agency Pulsum Brands took a trip to the Ecuadorian hacienda Palo Santo to discover what the secret behind the fabulous production of cacao, moringa and barley was. Asked to design the packaging of their products, the team at Pulsum Brands had the chance to see “the way the founders look at nature, how they protect it and how deep in love they are with it. Every product had to be representing those ideals.”
One of the necessities was to design all the products as one visual system but without given up their individuality. Talking about their strategy, the team at Pulsum Brands say: “Make a tasting of the products to find the tones and flavors that define each one, with this we can create collages of native leaves that identify each flavor behind the coffee, beer, chocolate, etc.”
“In the specific case of the coffee, we found flavors like dark chocolate, nuts and obviously coffee, so the leaves in the packaging of that specific coffee were taken from the surroundings and manually printed on a paper for later to be photographed and create the collage for that product.”
This helps in identifying each product by their flavors and also to be part of a whole products family.
