The brief was to create a premium, contemporary absinthe label design that still reflected the Art Nouveau ornamental style of art that flourished between 1890 and 1910 - which was also the time in which Absinthe was at its highest peak. The long, sinuous, organic lines that characterise the Art Nouveau style is incorporated into the label design that not only reflects the time period but also medicinal and culinary herbs used in creating this absinthe. All typography used on the label and packaging are Art Nouveau fonts popular during that time. Green is the predominant colour as this was traditionally, the original colour of Absinthe. Paul Verlaine comes from the great French poet who was a great admirer of Absinthe.
