MPowerd knows the importance that lighting solutions serve for everyday people and those in energy scarce regions of the world, as well as the importance of being environmentally friendly.
They came to Process AG needing a reboot on their existing packaging- they needed something that presented the product in a more refined way, allowed the customer to see the actual product, and used fewer materials to help the environment.
While maintaining consistent branding, we upgraded the packaging to include a flap that could both show the product in a refined render and allow the consumer to see the product inside the box via a die-cut window. There is also a window on the back so the consumer can see both the lights on one side and the solar panel on the other.
With the requirement to use as little as material as possible and use environmentally friendly materials, we were able to eliminate a magnet flap that would typically be used on this style box, and instead created a flap that is secured via die-cut tab/slit.
We also eliminated another piece of plastic in the packaging by using a cotton ribbon for the hang tag which also helped to differentiate the product on the shelf.
The overall result was a premium looking box that was both cost-effective and environmentally friendly because it was made of folded carton and didn’t use any rigid board, magnets, or plastic.
What's Unique?
Special die-cut windows on the front and back to allow consumers to see both sides of the product without having to pull it out of the box, as well as a cotton ribbon, hang tab instead of plastic to differentiate themselves from the competitors both aesthetically in the stores and as an eco-friendly factor.
