Original Zörbiger is a jam brand born in 1873 in a small town called Zörbig, East Germany.

In 2002 they merged into multinational company Zuegg, who in 2019 decided to tackle the shelves with a complete rebranding. The brief required a design with an eye-catching aesthetic appealing to its important historical background.

“Ostaglie” means nostalgia for Communist life in East Germany. This was a key word throughout the entire design process, aiming for a brand that stood out and celebrated its local legacy, without appearing as a vintage product.

What's Unique?
The bold colours combined with black and the absence of the fruits' classic imagery brings us back to the brand's historical roots while breaking the mould in a category that had become a redundant pattern on the shelf. The Zörbig tower celebrates local heritage and is represented with an additional version of the logo design.
