Every person has the right to personal empowerment. In order to achieve this, we first need to build community. Akila teams with local artists and artisans in African countries to create community. By working together Akila helps generate local economic growth and sustain small businesses. The partnership is a way for artists to share their creative voice.

The one of a kind, hand made products are distributed at a Manhattan storefront and all proceeds go back to the artist. Akila connects the corners of the world to encourage artisinal crafts and give artists an international platform.

What's Unique?
Akila is a monochromatic brand to remind us that no matter where we are from, our creative purpose is the same — to make and to give.
