Altitud is a brand new customer-funded wine from Chilean winemaker Irene Paiva.

Independent winemakers pitched their ideas to Naked Wines customers, the winning pitches were then fully funded and several months later... Irene’s dream wine was born!

For this Cabernet blend Irene chose slow-ripened grapes picked in slightly cooler areas of the Cachapoal and Curico Valley in the Andes. The slow ripening of the fruit produces more enhanced flavours while the brilliant sunlight intensifies the colours.

We wanted to make a bottle that highlighted the young fresh fruit and offered something a little different from standard Chilean fare. We opted for a die-cut micro-textured pearl paper with matt gold and de-bossed silver foils to illustrate the intense sun and the cooler mountain terrain. Ensuring the label didn’t come across too serious - we used a playful brush script and chunky sans serif typefaces.

On the back we couldn’t exclude Irene’s dogs. Pancho and Tigre enjoy frequent long walks around the mountainside vineyards along the Central Valley.
