Innovative packaging design for online bonsai shipment.
Bonsai is a word of japanese origin that literally means to cultivate on a tray, therefore plant and pot are inseparable.
The pack combines several carton modules* that are connected with rods, creating a framework that protects the plant in its transport all the way until it reaches the customer. Besides, these modules can be reused to create a podium in order to elevate the bonsai as if it were a sculpture, providing a quality added value and reducing the environmental impact. When unboxing, the user removes the modules one by one in a slow and careful process, such as the art of bonsai cultivating.
*the model has been made from corrugated paperboard, but the pack is to be done with honeycomb carton which improves its resistance.
