Activist - Environmental card game encouraging children to learn about global issues

Recognising a lack of education about environmental issues past recycling for Key Stages 2 and 3, I looked at ways to appeal to and teach children about why they need to care about the damage that is being done to the world. The solution, a card game aimed at engaging 8-12-year-old children with deforestation, getting them to play as an activist taking a stand against different scenarios. Players race against time to turn deforested land back into reforested land, reintroducing endangered species and bringing life back to the area.

I developed a style that is bold and full of character to enthuse the audience to learn, reframing the idea of being an activist as a position and aspiring role. The product is printed on 100% recycled materials and at the end of it's life can be recycled again, utilising biodegradable glue.

The product is marketed at UK wide toy stores, as well as Zoos and Wildlife sanctuaries whom support the cause for preventing environmental issues such as deforestation.
What's Unique?
The product is printed on 100% recycled materials and at the end of it's life can be recycled again, utilising biodegradable glue. Its unique format offers an engaging packaging which encourages interaction. The user experience in how the product is looked at and used has been carefully considered in the narrative it portrays whilst opening it: the beautiful forest scene turning into that of deforestation and destruction, before the packaging is opened to visuals of protests and rallies.
